Why you need Jaaxy
Jaaxy is a keyword and research platform for affiliate marketers, created by affiliate marketers. As such, the research tools are quite targeted for those who are looking to start, or have an existing affiliate marketing business, and want to maximize traffic. These tools are invaluable for finding a niche, keyword targeting, competition analysis, checking your site rankings on Google, Bing, and Yahoo, and will even help you find available domain names for your website. It is a full-featured platform that is an invaluable aid to the affiliate marketer.
To put it shortly, it’s simply one of those tools that an affiliate marketer can’t do without in today’s competitive environment.
How do I get on the first page in Google?
Honestly, if you are going to make money as an affiliate marketer and don’t want to spend endless money on Facebook or pay-per-click ads, the above question should be on the forefront of your mind. How do you get on the first page of Google? It all starts with keyword targeting. You want to target keywords in your niche that have low competition, yet still have a reasonable amount of searches (traffic) – enough that if you make it on the first page of a Google (or Bing or Yahoo) search, you can expect to see some traffic. Without traffic, all your effort to build out a meaningful website is a waste of time (we don’t like that at Reclaim-Your-Time), as no one is going to see it. You can have the best site on the ‘net, but if you don’t get traffic, you cannot monetize your site. Traffic = $$. It is the life-blood of an affiliate marketing business, just as foot traffic is the life-blood of a brick and mortar business.
Te be fair, keyword targeting is just the necessary beginning. In the end, if you don’t have a decent amount of quality content, the odds of a first page position on any search engine is slim and none, even with good targeting. If you’re interested in building an affiliate marketing business, you’ll want to do both things well.
If you’re looking for a good place to start in affiliate marketing (or a solid place to grow), check out my review of Wealthy Affiliate. It’s the best affiliate marketing program I’ve come across to date, and you get access to the Jaaxy keyword tool from within. There is a link in my review you can click to start a free account – no strings attached, and no credit card required.
How is Jaaxy Keyword Tool Used?
Here is an example of a simple keyword search in Jaaxy, using the keyword phrase, “running shoes”:
If you look at the header in the results pane, you’ll see the following columns: Keyword, Avg, Traffic, QSR, KQI, SEO, and Domains. You’ll note that under ‘Keyword’, you are given several results (the image above does not show all the results, as this is just an example). The first listing is the keyword phrase typed in is at the top. Below that, are related keyword phrases you can further research by clicking on them. You’ll also see a check box. This allows you to select and store your selection of keywords in keyword lists you can create. This is quite handy, as you’ll discover when doing a lot of research in one sitting.
Here is a short explanation for the other column headers, for those not familiar with Jaaxy (when inside Jaaxy, you can get this same information by hovering over the “?”):
- Avg: The average number of searches for that keyword in a month.
- Traffic: Visits to your website if you achieve a first page ranking in the search engines
- QSR: “Quoted Search Results”, the number of competing websites for this exact keyword
- KQI: “Keyword Quality Indicator”, Green is “great”, Yellow is “normal”, and Red is “poor”.
- SEO: A score based on traffic and competition, the higher the score, the more likely you will rank for this keyword on the first page when targeting that keyword (scale of 1-100, higher is better).
- Domains: You can click on the “Search” link, and Jaaxy will check to see what domains are available for that keyword.
Using this properly can help you dig into keywords for your niche quickly and easily, showing you the best ones to use for whatever content you are looking to create.
Further, to the right of what you see in the screen capture, above, can be found another column:
This column automatically populates with related keyword phrases, to assist in your search. It’s another way to dig into the keywords your considering, which can take you in directions you may not have considered, initially. I find this section to be quite useful, overall. Being able to drill down like this into different keyword combinations, can help you find the right one that will assist you in the goal of getting on the first page of Google.
In addition, if you click on ‘search’ under the ‘Domains’ column for ‘running shoes’, you get this screen, which shows you if that domain is available, along with a list of other similar domains:
That’s pretty cool. Saves time not having to go to a domain name provider to see if a domain is available.
Check Site Ranking
As an example, I checked to see where “nike.com” ranked for the keywords, “running shoes”. If you look at the right pane, it shows that nike.com ranks at the third position, first page on Google. You can also see this on the left pane, as well, along with where it ranks for Bing and Yahoo. You can search any keyword combination for any website, which helps you see where the competition ranks for similar keywords.
Also on the left pane, you can see the “keyword tracking” section. You can use this to set up daily scans for whatever keyword or keyword phrase you want to track for your website. It will track it over time, so you can see the fluctuations from day to day (yes, they do fluctuate, which makes it nice to be able to track it automatically).
Jaaxy Feature List
Here’s an overview of features of the Jaaxy keyword tool, as well as comparisons between account levels:
If you are just getting started, free is great! If you find that too limiting, for the price of the Pro account, you can join Wealthy Affiliate and upgrade to their Premium account, which comes with Jaaxy Lite (not shown in the above graphic). It’s a good step above the free Jaaxy Starter, but not quite at the level of the Jaaxy Pro.
The free account for Wealthy Affiliate includes the free Jaaxy Starter. The best of both worlds, so you can try them both out and see how they work for you.
Jaaxy is one of those indispensable tools for the affiliate marketer. I use Jaaxy, and could not run my business without it. If you are new, definitely go with the Starter version to kick the tires. No need to buy until you get going, or if you find that you like it, but the Starter account is too limiting. As business expenses go, this is minimal, and can pay you back many times over for time it can save you (we like that at Reclaim-Your-Time) as you scale your business. It’s also quite intuitive to use.
This one is an easy recommendation. I use it, I like it, and more importantly, it saves me time. I’m not sure how, in today’s online environment, you can be successful without a tool like this. And Jaaxy is the best keyword tool for the affiliate marketer that I’ve found. If you know of a better one, please post your comment, below. I’d love to hear about it, and why you think it’s better. I’m always looking to review new products, and am more than willing to change recommendations when better products are found.
The only issue I have with it is that it’s not what I’d call cheap. It’s $49/mo for the Pro version, which is really what you’ll eventually want to move to. I won’t say that it’s too expensive for what you get, I just wish it was in the $29-39 range. Call me cheap. Of course, tools are a part of the business, and this one is no more expensive (actually less, in many cases) than those required for other types of online businesses, like an Amazon FBA business (details on those tools and costs in the linked review).
Jaaxy is legit, and is highly recommended for any level of affiliate marketer – beginner to expert.
